United Airlines Isn't Listening Anymore

But that's not too say that they ever really were listening. It's just to say that today they have a call center (in India, of course) where you can lodge your complaints via phone before having them be officially ignored. But only if you could understand the operator on the other end of the line - and even then, only if they have a strong enough grasp of the English Language to accurately file your complaint. But according to MSNBC, that all comes to an end in April.

On Feb 10th, MSNBC reported that "United Airlines is dropping an Indian customer call center that took compliments or complaints after a flight, telling customers to send a letter or e-mail instead.". The airline believes that they can better serve you by not talking to you at all. And while you can still talk to a person in the reservation center, they won't be taking your complaints.

The good news is that when the number that forwards to that call center is terminated, fewer American Jobs will be performed in India; some American jobs in the Reservation Centers will actually be saved; and you'll know that you're actually being ignored.

The bad news is that you can more easily be ignored by United; that airline service is still declining; and that they still suck!

Every time I think the airlines wouldn't be able to stay in business if things were to get any worse, they prove me wrong. So I won't say it. At least not today.
